flower dome wanderings

I know. Don't judge.

And so... I finally visited one of the domes at the Gardens with Wy some weeks ago since he returned to Singapore to spend his winter break.

Gardens by the Bay
Flower Dome

The awesomest part of this vast containment of nature is that it is frickin' AIR CONDITIONED!! It's so cool (no pun intended)! I never imagined that the interior of the dome would be so huge cos' honestly it didn't look that big from the outside. But I was wrong. I am impressed, Singapore.

Rather interesting knobbly skinny branches. They remind me of human joints/knuckles. How does the plant know when to grow up or down? Why do they adopt such a pattern, if any reason at all? Perhaps it's a result of adaptation? Pardon my inner nerd.

Monkey puzzle tree.

What's interesting is that the spiky leaves grow directly on the branches, covering it to make it a dangerous pokey spiky leafy branch. Even the trunk is covered with spikes. This is a plant you do not want to walk into.

We think that a Pokemon (Bellossom?) was inspired by the garden fuchsia.

King sugar bush. Er who threw shredded chicken all over this plant? HAHAHA ok.

One of my favourite flowers. Daisies!

I just want to hug this fat tree.

A variety of cactuses in all their furry/spiny glory. The cactuses there look really plump and healthy - no joke.

THIS IS A VERY VERY NORMAL PHOTO OF US (good job!).

I am not a particularly adventurous person but I enjoyed the company and the sights! Next time we'll be back for the Cloud Forest! THEY HAVE A WATERFALL INSIDE WOAH

Okay! That's all :D Hope your eyes have had their daily dose of green... stuff. Watch out for the next {shoot us} at the end of this week!
