Hello I'm back after a blog post drought!

What you just saw were a set of photos taken for my {shoot us} series in May 2015 and carefully curated today. #throwback
I don't know why it took me so long to finally decide to post them up - I blame my indecisiveness and I also forgot about them as I was going through a very, very busy period shortly after these photos were taken.

I don't know when I'll be able to do another {shoot us} but I really hope this is not the last one because I always enjoy doing these mini projects! Fingers crossed! Most importantly, I'd like to thank Tracy for all her help during these shoots which otherwise would not be possible without her <3

{shoot us} second edition

Did you know? 

'Tiong Bahru' is a combination of Hokkien and Malay words.

Tiong = Hokkien for cemetery/tomb (but now translated into Chinese 中)

Bahru = Malay for new

The Tiong Bahru area was originally a cemetery before its development. During the pre-WWII years, it was regarded as an estate which only the upper class could afford to live in (and also hide their mistresses!). In recent years, boutique hotels and cafés have mushroomed all over Tiong Bahru. Old coffee shops, provision shops and even entire apartment blocks have shut their doors or relocated in order to make way for these new vendors. All in the name of business. 

Should we be concerned in conserving the old world charm of Tiong Bahru? Can the new and old co-exist?

Change is inevitable, but not all changes are good. 

As long as my favourite old school confectionery is untouched... I'm okay :p

introducing {shoot us}

No pressure, no time restraints, nothing to lose. 

A dedication to our youth while we're still young and dandy.

This is the core of {shoot us}. 

so, what exactly is this all about?
Basically, its playing dress up. Something like an OOTD but not exactly. You can't call it a lookbook either. Taking photos in the name of fun and learning/discovering something new along the way. 

why do it?

Well, because YOLO. And I found someone crazy enough to do this together with me (love you, T!!)! I can't tell you how frickin' excited we were when this mini project finally materialised! Dressed up and ready to shoot on the streets. Achievement unlocked! From deciding on a theme, picking out clothes, doing our hair and make up, carrying our own logistics, setting up the self-timer, then posing for the very first time. We learnt so much and had immense fun throughout the process and I guess that was the most important thing for us both. Why do it if it's no fun?


Above all, I'm really excited to share my picks which were carefully curated and edited :)
It doesn't matter if nobody likes them!! I just wanna showcase our work :D Posts are ready to go live next week!
