take time to breathe

Last week was a crazily busy week. Juggling work, reading scientific journals, making final preparations for my sister's wedding isn't exactly a piece of cake. The long weekend didn't make things better or easier either.

My elder sister's wedding was on Saturday, the day after Labour Day. Having to run on 3 hours of sleep and trying to look awake (thank goodness for make up) was surprisingly manageable because of all that adrenaline! The wedding processions and lunch banquet went smoothly without a hitch, thanks to family and friends who selflessly gave us their help and support. Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Tan! :)

Sitting in a pile of unfinished work, feeling uncertain for the next half of 2015 - how is my life going to turn out? I wish things would just complete themselves and everything would tie up seamlessly... But nothing is accomplished without effort and the heart to do it. Learning to breathe, even when you're gasping for air. Feeling small while being consumed and overwhelmed by the things or events around you. Take the time to pause and breathe...
